Residents refuse entitled woman who demands they move away from their own apartment doorway, knowing she doesn’t even live in the complex

I don't know what it is, but some people hit a certain age and transform into tiny tyrants who roam around town centres like they were elected mayor of someone else's life. We unfortunately all know the type, the ones who treat every sidewalk and doorway as a personal inspection zone and every stranger as a suspect until proven otherwise

  • The real joke is how she later repeats the exact same bit with a homeless woman who actually has permission to sit on the step, which throws the whole performance into sharp focus. It was never about the doorway, the business, or even the noise. It was about who she imagines deserves to be there and who she feels entitled to police. The idea that a functioning adult cannot stand in the alcove of their own front door without being interrogated by a stranger who lives nowhere nearby is wild, and the fact that her being this aggressively intrusive in the middle of the day is treated as normal background noise says more about our culture than it does about her.

  • YouShouldBeHigher Thank you for your kindness to the homeless lady. I hate seeing people living on the street, but I know some of them actually prefer that life (we have one like that in our town). Giving them a safe place to sit in the rain hurts nobody.

I try help as many homeless people in my area as possible with food, clothing, hygiene products etc I was. homeless for 6 months (luckily never ended up on the streets) and we are all one bad paycheque away from being homeless so treating the less fortunate with kindness and compassion is what god intende

  • cdb-outside I'm someone with asthma and neighbors smoked by the door in one of my apartments. It wasn't a regular thing, just a random hang out. It triggered asthma attacks and took me a long time to recover. I ended up moving. It is not just the smell it really causes problems for others.

The world doesn't need to walk on egg shells because you don't know when to stop drinking. She needs to go rehab and give up the bottle instead of harassing people I have absolutely zero sympathy for anyone who drinks alc ol after growing up with alc ic parents who thankfully realised they was the problem not the world and stopped drinking

  • auroradelagaia I'm torn on this one: many places have a no smoking close to doorways law and I'm guessing if you're violating that her only threat is the municipal authorities if people are always using the entrance to her home to smoke and she has to smell it. She may also be 70ish and not have a support system or finances to move to a place that is quieter and give her the chance to avoid smells/sounds that bother her.
